Fennel from the oven

Finding the perfect side dish to fish isn't always easy. Of course, you can make some potatoes and a few veggies, but if you want to impress your friends and family without having a lot of work, then you will love this side dish. Just thinking about how the orange juices flow over the fennel and make it so tasty makes me hungry while writing the recipe.

Since you can just throw it on a baking tray with or without the fish it will do everything on its own and will save you a lot of time.

Check out the matching recipe for maple glazed carrots.

Ingredients:

  • 1 fennel

  • 2 small to middle oranges

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Let's start cooking:

  1. Cut the fan lengthwise in about 5 mm slices

  2. Place them onto a baking sheet and spread them over the whole tray

  3. Now peel your oranges and cut them into 5mm thin slices and don't forget to take out as many seeds as possible

  4. Place all of the slices in between the fennel so that they are evenly distributed

  5. Drizzle your olive oil over the fan and season with a little salt and pepper

  6. Pop it into the oven at 180°C for 15 minutes until they look soft

  7. Serve while hot!

Enjoy!
