Caramelized onions

Where should I start? These onions make so many dishes just so delicious and you should try them with melted cheese. Even with just some bread cheese and onions on top, it is amazing. Matches perfectly well with a good old steak and a glass of red wine.

So spare these 10 minutes to make this easy recipe and store it for up to 3 days in the fridge.


  • 8 large white onions

  • 4-5 tbsp of white sugar

  • a good pinch of salt

  • 2 tbsp neutral oil

  • 3 tbsp white wine vinegar

Let's start cooking:

  • Coate your pan with a neutral oil

  • Throw in your onions and fry them on high heat

  • Keep stirring until they get brown and soft

  • Add in your white wine vinegar but be careful not to inhale the fumes

  • Turn down the heat a little and add in your sugar and salt

  • The liquid should start getting slightly thicker

  • Do a taste test and serve while hot or store in a jar (let it cool completely, then add the lid and store it in the fridge)
