Apple pear compote

There are way too many options where you could use the recipe. It matches great with austrian kaiserschmarrn or pitzauf. You can also store it for up to a year in jars or give it to friends or family as a present.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large apples (sweet)

  • 2 large pears

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (vegetable oil)

Let's start cooking:

  1. Cut out the pit of the apple and the pear and cut them into small cubes

  2. Put the oil into a pot and coat it well, afterward trow in the fruits and fry on low heat

  3. Wait 5 minutes, then add the sugar, 2 tbsp of water, and the cinnamon stick

  4. Cover the pot and cook for another 10 minutes until everything is soft

  5. Take out the cinnamon stick and add the lime juice

  6. Blend 80% of the mixture in a blender and mix it back together with the rest of the fruits

  7. If the sauce is too sweet, you can add more lime juice

Enjoy!
